At Irving Farm, we believe that education not only leads to a deeper appreciation of coffee, but also stimulates innovation within the specialty coffee industry. At our Loft, which is home to the only SCAA-certified campus in NYC, we encourage both the seasoned professional and the curious coffee enthusiast to take advantage of our diverse educational offerings. Our campus encompasses two state-of-the-art training labs (that expand into one larger space) as well as one cupping lab.

A typical week will feature such classes as Intro to Coffee: Tasting and Origins, Latte Art, Advanced Espresso, or the four-hour Barista Fundamentals Intensive. We’re also proud to offer SCAA Certification, one-on-one tutorials, and public cuppings for industry professionals looking to practice their craft in a controlled, customer-free environment. All Irving Farm baristas take our classes on the craft and science of brewing to ensure the highest quality presentation in all of our cafés, and we also offer classes to our wholesale accounts.
