Irving Farm has been offering training and education for years, but in 2015 we moved into a brand new state-of-the-art space in NYC known as the Loft, which has enabled us to greatly expand our programming for both the seasoned professional and the curious coffee enthusiast. Under the leadership of Joshua Littlefield and Sarah Leslie, all Irving Farm baristas are trained here in the art and science of brewing to ensure the highest quality presentation in our cafes.

We have two training labs that can open into one larger space, accommodating up to 20 people per class, as well as an SCAA Certified Cupping Lab. A typical week will feature Coffee Brewing Science, Sensory Building or the four-hour Barista Fundamentals Intensive. We’re also proud to offer SCAA Certification, one-on-one tutorials, and Open Barista Jam Sessions for industry professionals looking to practice their craft in a controlled, customer-free environment.
